Dr Sam Lovibond

Sam is passionate about the health of Tasmanians and provides a knowledgeable, thorough and patient centred approach to healthcare. He is experienced and competent in managing a wide variety of cardiovascular conditions and takes pride in the professional relationships that he develops with his patients and their families. He grew up in Hobart and graduated Medicine with honours from the University of Tasmania. After moving to Melbourne, he completed specialist physician training before undertaking three years of advanced training in Cardiology. He then completed two years of further sub-specialty training at The Alfred Hospital, through a fellowship in Interventional Heart Failure. There, he gained comprehensive training in the implantation and management of cardiac devices, as well as further experience in management of complex heart failure. He holds certification through the Heart Rhythm Society (USA) as a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist and has further qualifications from the University of Melbourne in Clinical Education. He regularly attends and presents at scientific meetings both in Australia and abroad and has published research in national and international cardiovascular journals.
